Card Details
Mana CostCharacter Background
Order of the White Shield is a classic Ice Age white two-drop that plays like a disciplined duelist: a 2/1 with protection from black, plus mana sinks that let it become either a first-striking blocker or a sharper attacker on demand. It fits best in aggressive or tempo-minded white decks, where early pressure matters and spare mana can be converted into combat advantages. Protection from black is especially relevant in older formats, letting it push through many removal spells and black creatures while forcing awkward blocks. The {W} first strike mode pairs nicely with equipment, combat tricks, or any plan that wants to win small-creature fights, while the {W}{W} pump can turn excess late-game Plains into real damage. It’s also a strong target for effects that grant evasion or double down on combat dominance, since first strike and power boosts make every attack step more threatening.
