Character Background
Ball Lightning is pure red aggression distilled into one explosive body: a 6/1 with trample, haste, and an unavoidable self-sacrifice clause that makes it feel like a spell pretending to be a creature. In practice, it best supports aggro and burst-tempo decks that want to convert three red mana into immediate damage before the opponent can stabilize. Because it hits so hard on arrival, it pairs especially well with effects that grant extra combat damage or pump for a single turn, and with sacrifice or blink-style shells that can squeeze additional value from its brief existence. In deckbuilding, prioritize efficient burn and fast mana so you can cast it early and force awkward blocks; even a single attack often demands removal immediately, which is a kind of pressure red decks love. Lore-wise, it evokes an untamable surge of elemental fury, appearing only long enough to scorch the battlefield before vanishing into ash.
