Card Details
Mana CostCharacter Background
Commodore Guff is a quintessential value-engine commander for a planeswalker-centric control deck, turning every end step into an investment in your board. His ability to place loyalty on another planeswalker helps your key walkers survive longer and reach their best ultimates faster, while the +1 steadily produces Wizard mana dorks that can only fuel more planeswalkers, making your ramp both thematic and highly focused. The real payoff is the −3, which scales hard with your board: in a deck built to maintain multiple planeswalkers, it becomes a burst of cards and a table-wide burn spell that can swing tempo or close games outright. He works especially well with low-cost planeswalkers, defensive proliferate effects, and cards that protect the board while you assemble a critical mass of walkers. As a commander, he rewards patience, sequencing, and careful loyalty management over aggression.
