Card Details
Mana CostCharacter Background
Teferi, Temporal Archmage is a quintessential control-and-value engine, especially potent in Commander where his ability to lead the deck opens up dedicated planeswalker shells. His +1 smooths draws by digging two cards deep, helping you hit land drops, interaction, or key combo pieces, while the −1 is the real workhorse: untapping up to four permanents can effectively generate a burst of mana, reset tap abilities, or reuse loyalty-heavy utility pieces. In practice, he shines with mana rocks, planeswalkers that matter at instant speed, and cards that exploit repeated untaps such as The Chain Veil or powerful artifact mana. If you can reach the −10 emblem, Teferi turns your planeswalkers into a flash-speed threat, letting you protect them and advance your board on every turn. He is at his best in slower tables where inevitability and resource advantage matter more than early aggression.
