Card Details
Mana CostCharacter Background
Rimefire Torque is a deceptively patient rare that rewards tribal deckbuilding with a spell-copy payoff, making it strongest in tempo-leaning control or combo shells rather than pure aggro. When it enters, naming a creature type turns every future permanent of that type into fuel, so decks that flood the board with small tribal bodies or token makers can charge it quickly and quietly. The real prize is the third counter: once the Torque is ready, it turns your next instant or sorcery into a copied spell, letting you double a removal spell, protection trick, draw spell, or burn spell for a decisive swing. In practice, it shines best with cheap creatures that share a type and with instant-speed interaction you are happy to copy at the perfect moment. In Lorwyn-flavored tribal decks, it feels like a tuned relic that converts communal momentum into carefully aimed magic.
