Card Details
Mana CostCharacter Background
The Celestus is a compact engine for value-oriented control and midrange decks, especially in Innistrad: Midnight Hunt builds that care about the day/night mechanic. It fixes mana immediately, which makes it excellent in three- or five-color shells, and its optional transformation ability turns every cycle into a small but meaningful swing: one life, plus a loot effect that filters dead draws and helps find answers or finishers. Because the switch is sorcery-speed, it rewards careful planning rather than reactive play, so it fits best in grindy decks that can afford to pass with mana up and flip at the right moment. A strong synergy tip is to pair it with cards that reliably influence the day/night sequence or benefit from repeated toggles, since even a single Celestus can generate steady card selection over time. In lore terms, it feels like a hidden astronomical device guiding Innistrad through unstable cycles, and in gameplay it’s exactly that kind of slow, reliable anchor.
