Character Background
Ghalta and Mavren is a spectacular top-end value engine for go-wide or midrange token strategies, turning every attack step into a threat that scales with board presence. In practice, it best supports an aggressive value plan: either flood the battlefield with bodies and use Mavren’s Vampire mode to gain life and widen the board, or stack a huge attacker beside Ghalta and make an even larger trampling Dinosaur. Because the token choices care about other attacking creatures, cards that produce early creatures or token makers like Wedding Announcement, Raise the Alarm, or other efficient token generators make this legendary pair much more explosive. The 12/12 body also forces awkward blocks, and trample helps convert combat advantage into real damage. As a lore pairing, the Dinosaur-Vampire contrast feels like a surreal alliance of primal force and predatory nobility, which the card captures by making your attack step feel like an unstoppable stampede or a vampiric swarm.
