Card Details
Mana CostCharacter Background
Thran Golem is a strangely elegant throwback to Magic’s old artifact design: a sturdy 3/3 body that becomes a true threat only when it’s properly “awakened” by an Aura. In practice, it best supports a value-oriented midrange or casual Voltron plan, where you stack cheap enchantments onto one resilient attacker and turn a modest investment into evasive, trampling pressure. The payoff is significant: once enchanted, it jumps to a 5/5 with flying, first strike, and trample, making combat miserable for blockers and excellent for racing. Because it asks for enchantment support, prioritize Auras that are efficient or replace themselves, such as role-player buffs or cantrip-style enchantments, and consider protection like hexproof-granting effects to avoid getting blown out by removal. In Dominaria Remastered limited especially, it’s a high-ceiling build-around that rewards patience, board stability, and careful sequencing.
