Character Background
Bill Potts is a resilient value engine for spellslinger decks that want to turn a single targeted trick into two, making her especially strong in tempo or control shells that already favor instants and sorceries. Because she copies only the first qualifying spell or ability each turn, the best builds lean into efficient, repeatable target effects rather than all-in storm lines: think combat tricks, protection spells, tap effects, or targeted burn that can be doubled for extra efficiency. As a Doctor’s companion, she naturally invites a two-commander setup with the Doctor, giving you a flavorful Izzet-style core that can play reactive Magic while still generating advantage. Deckbuilding tip: prioritize cards that target Bill and remain useful even when copied, such as pump, blink-adjacent protection, or activated abilities from equipment and utility permanents. Her 2/4 body also helps her survive as a steady centerpiece rather than a fragile combo piece.
