As Foretold
Oracle Text
At the beginning of your upkeep, put a time counter on this enchantment.
Once each turn, you may pay {0} rather than pay the mana cost for a spell you cast with mana value X or less, where X is the number of time counters on this enchantment.
Card Details
Mana CostCharacter Background
As Foretold is a patient, time-warping engine that fits best in control, combo, or grindy value shells, especially decks happy to spend early turns setting up while it quietly accumulates future mana. In Doctor Who flavor, it feels like the universe briefly deciding to let you cheat causality: each upkeep adds another time counter, and soon your small spells become free once per turn. That makes it excellent with cheap interaction, cantrips, suspend-style cards, or any deck built to chain multiple low-cost plays over successive turns. A strong deckbuilding tip is to favor spells with mana value 0 to 3 that remain useful later, since As Foretold scales upward and turns those draws into tempo swings. It also pairs well with extra-turn effects, untap synergies, and counters-matter support, letting a control deck stabilize early and then overwhelm opponents by casting key spells without spending mana.
