Character Background
Here Comes a New Hero! is a classic blue value spell that leans hard into tempo and midrange control, with a splash of combo potential. Paying {X}{2}{U} lets you scale it to the board: the target player draws X cards, so you can reload yourself in grindy games or even point it at an opponent when the extra cards matter less than the token payoff. The real prize is making a token copy of a creature with mana value X or less, which rewards careful curve planning and lets you double up on enters-the-battlefield effects, utility bodies, or evasive attackers. In a deck built around creatures like value wizards, bounce effects, or sacrifice fodder, this can feel like a flexible swing turn. It pairs especially well with creatures whose impact happens immediately, since a copied threat often converts the card draw into board presence at once.
